Ball Attachment Dentures
These dentures snap onto two implants that are placed in your lower jaw, which allows your appliance to be more stable while chewing certain foods. There is still some slight movement and potential sore spots from food particles that get caught under it. These appliances will still need occasional readjustments.

Bar Attachment Dentures
This option requires four to six dental implants (depending on the size and shape of your lower jaw), which will be connected to a custom-made support bar. The dentures will attach to the bar so that they are firmly in place, allowing a much more secure option for your dentures while still being easy to remove and maintain.

Screw-Retained Dentures
Five or more implants are embedded into your jaw, where a permanent denture is attached via screws and clasps. Since it does not directly touch the gum tissue, you are required to clean under the denture without removing it. The only time it will be removed is at maintenance appointments. Many patients looking for a permanent option choose this type of denture despite the extra time it takes to clean under them.

Individual Implants
One option for both your upper and lower jaw is to receive up to eight to 10 individual implants with replacement teeth. This is by far the costliest but will give the appearance of natural teeth while remaining permanent. The implants are often joined by a sinus graft to restore the strength and support of the bone. This option may also be limited by the size and shape of your jaw.

Implant-Retained Upper Dentures
These are a great option for replacing your upper teeth. Depending on the number of implants, it is possible to eliminate the need for a traditional complete denture. This oral appliance will feel more natural and give you a better sense of food temperature. You can still remove the appliance for cleaning and maintenance.

Similar options for oral appliances can be applied to the upper jaw. However, since the bone is not as hard as the lower jaw, more dental implants may be required. Talk to our oral surgeons to find out which option is best for you.
