Jay Brian Reznick, DMD, MD
Dr. Reznick founded Southern California Center for Oral & Facial Surgery in 2008 and has been in practice in the Encino-Tarzana area since 1992.
Dr. Reznick grew up in Studio City and received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California-Berkeley, and his dental degree from Tufts University in Boston. He earned an M.D. from the University of Southern California and did his internship in general surgery at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California. He trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Los Angeles County/ USC Medical Center.
Dr. Reznick was among the first doctors to adopt fully guided, prosthetically based implant surgery. As the first specialist in the United States to implement 3D imaging, computer-aided design and manufacturing of dental restorations, he has immense experience utilizing these state-of-the-art treatment modalities. Dr. Reznick has been treating snoring and sleep apnea for over 25 years, utilizing the latest surgical and nonsurgical techniques.
With extensive publications in professional dental and medical literature, he founded the educational website, OnlineOralSurgery.com. He frequently lectures at dental meetings and conferences and provides live training courses on dental implants and 3D technology to dentists all over the world.
Dr. Reznick also serves as a consultant to several manufacturers of dental and surgical instruments and equipment.
Dr. Reznick is affiliated with Cedars Sinai Providence Tarzana Medical Center. He is also a member of numerous dental and medical associations, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the California Medical Association and the American Dental Association®.
Sirish Makan, DDS
Dr. Makan is a successful medical educator and oral care surgeon working across California. He is currently an associate adjunct professor at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center and at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Concurrently, he also practices oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Makan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of California, Riverside (2007) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific (2011).
Julene Funk, DDS
Dr. Julene Funk is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) from Ohio State University and completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Highland Hospital/ University of San Francisco (UCSF).
Early in her career, Dr. Funk encountered remarkable female oral surgeons who ignited her passion for forging her own path in oral surgery and making a positive impact on her patients. Her extensive four-year training in oral surgery focused on dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, IV sedation/anesthesia, corrective jaw surgery, and pathology.
Dr. Funk is committed to merging her clinical expertise with a gentle and compassionate approach to patient care. Outside of her professional commitments, she finds joy in playing tennis, exploring new destinations, and cherishing quality moments with her husband, Christian and her best friends, her younger sisters.
Jayini Thakker, DDS, MD
Dr. Jayini Thakker has been in practice for over 10 years. She graduated from Dental School at the University of California, San Francisco. She then completed Medical School and Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida. She is currently an Associate Professor at Loma Linda University, performing a broad scope of procedures and teaching residents in training.
In her spare time, Dr. Thakker enjoys hiking, surfing, traveling, and spending time with her family.
